Steve Munro Associate Producer
Steve Munro has spent much of his 20 years with Morning Edition on the overnight shift. Working from midnight to 8:00 a.m., he helps put the program on the air by writing copy, mixing sound for radio reports, editing interviews, and preparing the occasional obituary. "I love NPR," he says, "and have since I started listening in the 1970s." In fact, he loved it so much that he went to work for member station KRSW in southwestern Minnesota as a reporter. Radio was an obvious career choice, he says: As a teenager, he hung around local station KAUS in his hometown of Austin, Minn. And at Carleton College in Northfield, Minn., he hosted a radio show on campus station KARL.
