In 2003, the Red Cross dealt with a host of natural disasters, including wildfires in California, power outages in the North East, tornadoes in the South and Midwest, and an East Coast hurricane. Marsha Evans, president and CEO of the Red Cross, spoke to the Press Club about policy issues involved in "all-hazards" preparedness and how the Red Cross is helping individuals and families learn to deal with safety and security threats.
