Australian Prime Minister John Howard spoke to the Press Club about combatting terrorism, and he defended his country's war effort in Iraq. "It can't be denied that the prisoner abuse issue and upsurge of violence has changed the will and resolve of many," Howard said in his speech. "We have to ask ourselves, 'What is the alternative?' There is no alternative except to make a success of what has been undertaken."
