In a National Press Club appearance about his Hollywood career, actor Ernest Borgnine expressed his disapproval with the language in modern movies ."When he (Clark Gable) said, 'Madame, I don't give a damn,' he opened the floodgates," Borgnine said, referring to Gone with the Wind. "And today you hear nothing but expletives all over the place. And I just won't make those kind of pictures."
