Speaking at the National Press Club, Republican Sen. George Allen and Democratic Sen. Jon Corzine disagreed over the outcome of key Senate races. Predicting that Democrats would do well in pro-Bush states, Corzine said, "The rumors of Democrats' demise has been greatly exaggerated." But Allen said Bush would help the GOP senatorial candidates in many battleground states. Voters are "well aware of the negativity and obstructionism and filibustering" in the Senate, Allen said.
