Over the years, Marian has been collecting Christmas tunes from her Piano Jazz guests. At the very end of the Piano Jazz taping, Marian might put a guest on the spot and ask them to perform a Christmas tune or two. A number of these have been collected on three recordings, An NPR Jazz Christmas With Marian McPartland and Friends I, II, and III, available through the NPR shop and select retailers. Others have gone into this Christmas Special and you'll hear unique and off the cuff versions of seasonal favorites, a few new Christmas tunes as well as conversations and stories about music at Christmas time.
