A Map of the Central African Republic showing the path of the expedition and location of the elephant bai in the southwest corner of the country

The journey: the Radio Expeditions team landed in Bangui and drove for 15 hours to Bayanga in the southwestern part of the Central African Republic. Each day they drove from where they stayed at Doli Lodge to the camp near the elephant bai, inside the Dzanga Sangha Dense Forest Special Reserve. Graphic: Katherine Parker, NPR Online
