Peter Magnus in Binghamton, New York, USA :
"I am the System Administrator at GHS Federal
Credit Union. Lisa our Network Administrator and I kept a watchful eye
on our system as the clocks rolled toward to the new year. We weren't
alone as the senior management and our spouses were there to help us
celebrate the beginning of the new millennium. While we were kept
pretty busy throughout the day with our year end processing, we did get
away now and then to check out how the rest of the world was getting
along. We were quite relieved as the first reports from New Zealand and
Australia came in very positively and continued to do so from Moscow,
Paris, and London.
We toasted the New Year and then check the system for any apparent
glitches. Finding none we played out the final hand of cards, hugged
and congratulated each other on a job well done and then headed home. We
were very grateful for an uneventful night. We know its not over. We
will be in the next couple of days to check on things before opening for
business on Monday.
Happy New Year to all. Now lets get to work on that Y10K problem.
