I pulled into a parking space at the dentist, 10 minutes before my 4:00pm appointment, and was listening to Tom Shales talk about his book on Saturday Night Live. I was fascinated by his admission of being afraid of Chevy Chase and just had to hear all he had to say about it. After all the acerbic reviews he has given throughout this career, he's afraid of a celebrity, especially Chevy Chase?

The hygienist, in the meantime, had seen me arrive and was hoping to get started on my cleaning so she could leave work early. She was standing at the window frantically trying to get my attention to come on in, but I was oblivious to her. She came out and knocked on my car window, I waved and indicated I would be in shortly. She was not happy.

My driveway moments are far too numerous to mention. I can't remember most of them now, but I am a chronic engine idler (drives my husband crazy).
