"It was Mikel Jolet's story All Things Considered about his convict dad. I sat in the car at the community center where I pick my daughter up each evening, but I couldn't get out of the car even though I was late.

The story had anchored me to the car. I had my hand on the door handle and tears in my eyes. The story was so deep and true to life from my experience that I hung to every word wanting to hear more. The story not only intrigued me to learn more about the author and more of his tales, but also urged me to pick up the phone and call my dad. Which I did right away."
