"June 15, 2003. Father's Day. An NPR staff member shared tapes his mother and father sent to each other while his father was a pilot during the Vietnam war. Poignant to be allowed to share something so personal. It brought tears to my eyes as the son shared how, today, it reveals so much to him about who his parents were and are. I stayed in the car and had to compose myself before I got out of the car."
