NPR Labor Day Specials

Looking for some great radio this Labor Day? We've got it with three cultural specials, two classical and one comic.

For the funny stuff, we're offering member stations eight hours of original comedy skits from The Imagination Workshop, a troupe from KANU-FM in Kansas, practiced in the art of skewering popular culture. To preview the broadcast, each week we'll post several samples of their recent shenanigans for your listening enjoyment.

If your hair's a bit longer, how about tuning in for some of our Milestones of the Millenium marathon? For twenty-four hours, a stream of special programming from NPR's Performance Today® will visit some wonderful high points of classical music history. The programming will be hosted by NPR's Alex Chadwick.

And truly classic will be our day-long celebration of Johann Sebastian Bach, 24 Hours of Bach, featuring performances of his greatest work by the finest musicians from around the world. The program was produced by the German television company EuroArts to mark the 250th anniversary of the composer's death.

Check your local NPR stations for schedules of our Labor Day programming in your area.
