Education
NPR's Tavis Smiley discusses the pressing issues surrounding education in the Latino community with Thomas A. Saenz, vice president of litigation for the Mexican American Legal Defense and Educational Fund (MALDEF). Smiley also talks with Gabriela Lemus, director of policy and legislation for the League of United Latin American Citizens.

The Economy
Our series on issues affecting the Latino community continues -- Smiley discusses the economy with Ruth Lopez-Williams of the Latin Business Association and Oscar Sanchez, executive director of the Labor Council for Latin American Advancement.

The 2004 presidential election will see both Democrats and Republicans lobbying for the Latino vote. Smiley discusses the issues with Juan Andrade, president of the U.S. Hispanic Leadership Institute, and Lydia Camarillo, vice president of the South West Voters Registration Education Project.
Commentary: Latinos, Neither Black Nor White
Regular commentator Michael Eric Dyson discusses the results of a recent report released by the University of Albany's Louis Mumford Center stating that a growing number of Hispanics consider themselves neither black nor white.
Gato Barbieri's Unique Latin Jazz Sound
Correspondent Tony Cox speaks with Latin jazz saxophonist Gato Barbieri about his unique sound, the 30th anniversary of his Grammy for the Last Tango in Paris score and his new album, The Shadow of the Cat, which is up for a Latin Grammy.
