Paint By Number
May 12, 2001 -- Join Weekend All Things Considered Host Lisa Simeone as she's carried high above the National Mall in Washington, D.C., to paint part of a landscape for the Smithsonian's exhibit, Paint By Number: Accounting For Taste in the 1950's. The Museum of American History curator, Larry Bird, helps Lisa into a basket, then lift operator Andrew Goffney takes her up the side of the building where she'll apply "#31 Mantis Green" to a giant Paint By Number canvas.
Listen to the
Weekend All Things Considered report as Lisa talks with
curator Larry Bird.
Listen to Lisa as she's carried into the air for her painting excursion
