Singer/sintir player from Morocco. His new one is Life Around the World on Alula Records.

Lounge Lizards
John Lurie's downtown New York jazz collective. Their latest is Queen of All Ears on Lurie's Strange and Beautiful label.

The Grassy Knoll
Bob Green's hard-edged/industrial ensemble, featuring Sonic Youth's Thurston Moore on guitar. Their latest is Grassy Knoll III" (Verve Records).

Makoto Ozone Trio
Lovely jazz piano trio. Their latest is Three Wishes, and their previous release, called The Makoto Ozone Trio, is also terrific, very reminiscent of Vince Guaraldi. Both cds are on Verve Records.
