Inside Wall Street's Hypertime

So the last of my series on the Tyranny of Modern Time will be coming tomorrow. (Alva will be posting a little later today.)

I did want to highlight a remarkable article brought to our attention in the comments for Sunday's post on flash crashes and the consequences of Wall Street's use of hyper-fast computer trading.

This piece from The Atlantic focuses on what, exactly, is happening inside the trading machines (to the extent that anyone can actually figure that out). It's worth reading, and marveling at the graphs of "bot" trading behavior. Thanks to Johnny Truant for pointing this out.
