The Spanish heavy metal band Mägo de Oz (Wizard of Oz) has announced that it will release an album's worth of material for the toddler set called Heroes de Pacotilla, according to this report in Rolling Stone (Spain).

The band's leader, Txus, says the idea didn't come from being a new parent, or from middle-aged mellowness. He says he got the idea from the young daughter of the current Prime Minister of Spain, Jose Luis Zapatero.

Stay with me, this is good: Back in 2005, Txus was at a reception honoring Spanish musicians of all genres, hosted by Zapatero. The head of state then presented his two young daughters, ages 8 and 10, to the assembled musicians. It turns out that they were big fans of Mago de Oz.

When the musician asked the sweet 8-year-old what her favorite song was, she replied, "Your song 'A Hard D—- Doesn't Believe in God'!"

That's when the idea for a children's album struck. Which band would you love to hear perform a children's album?
