Meet The Blog Host: Janey Adams

I've been a Digital News editor at since May 2008. For the past few months, I've helped produce political coverage for the Web. Before that, I worked mainly with All Things Considered; and before that, I worked on's copy desk. After my current stint editing and blogging for The Baby Project, I have no clue what I'll be doing for NPR — and that's part of the fun of working here.

Some recent projects I've helped produce for The Spark, a series of stories profiling the 2012 Republican presidential contenders; a series on violence at California's state psychiatric hospitals; and Trafficked, a Youth Radio investigation on sex trafficking in the U.S.

I earned my (very useful) English literature degree from the University of Virginia, then lucked into a series of internships with the late, great newspaper giant Knight Ridder. After years of working as a wire service editor, I went back to school and earned a master's degree in interactive journalism from American University in Washington, D.C.

I traveled the world with my family as an Army brat, and later with my backpack as a financially challenged college student. In my free time, I enjoy zombies, HGTV, Margaret Atwood and Otis Redding — in that order.
