A Trillion A Year In Interest

I knew the U.S. would have to pay more interest on the national debt in the near future. But I don't think I quite grasped the magnitude of the situation until I saw this chart*, from an NPR story published today.

*Ok, maybe I still don't quite grasp the magnitude; $1 trillion is a lot to grasp. But this helps. By the way, NPR's Alyson Hurt put together the chart, which is based on estimates from the CBO.
