Bruce Springsteen and Jimmy Fallon

Last night on Late Night With Jimmy Fallon, Bruce Springsteen checked out the version of his battered guitar that Fallon worked up for his appearance on the Emmys. Lloyd Bishop/NBC hide caption

Jimmy Fallon has had a very Bruce Springsteen kind of year, what with the Emmy opening that brought down the house. Last night, Springsteen visited Fallon's show — getting the whole hour all to himself — performing two songs plus one, um ... extra number? Springsteen was there to promote his new box set, but it turned into a marvelously upbeat celebration. At the end, Fallon was almost entirely speechless with joy after seeing Bruce Springsteen rock out with The Roots on a show with his name on it.

Their conversation is  great fun, the songs are great fun, I particularly recommend the duet that brought back one of Fallon's favorite personas. It's just ... oh, it's too difficult to find the part you should watch. Just watch.
