In The News: The In SYNC Edition

As the latest tech trends are announced at the Detroit Auto Show and CES this week, we can't help but recognize the outstanding work NPR's Digital Media team has been producing to make NPR programming even more accessible for listeners. NPR announced this week that the new NPR News mobile app will be compatible with Ford's Sync AppLink technology.

CNET provided a live stream from this week's press conference, where NPR's CEO Gary Knell, SVP of Digital Media Kinsey Wilson and Director of Public Relations Danielle Deabler spoke about what this step means for NPR as an evolving, multimedia organization.

CNN, Fast Company, PC Magazine and Consumer Reports all picked up on the good news.

Other notable NPR news this week includes:

- NPR's Lars Schmidt made the Monster 11 for 2011 list of Top HR and Recruiting Bloggers to follow for his ability to insert "himself in the community and conversation, openly offering expertise and experience with no agenda other than a dual passion for technology and talent."

- Don't miss Adam Davidson's cover story published in The Atlantic this month: Making It In America tells the story of Standard Motor Products, a 92-year old, family-run company dealing with the ebb and flow of the American manufacturing market and explains the current job market. The corresponding radio report aired on Morning Edition today.

- NPR's social media accounts received noteworthy shout outs this week: National Journal found that Presidential candidate Ron Paul follows @nprpolitics and @nprtotn on Twitter, Newsweek shared NPR's Instagram photos from the Iowa Caucus on their Tumblr and Discovery News welcomed NPR's newest Tumblr, Radio Pictures, from the Multimedia team.
