Seeing Beauty At The Museum Of Photographic Arts

San Diego's Museum of Photographic Arts is one of the few institutions in the country devoted strictly to photography. Its permanent collection ranges from early works of Matthew Brady to fine art by Alfred Stieglitz, to contemporary photojournalism by Susan Meiselas.

For the fifth time, it has delved into its reserves to create an exhibition. "Seeing Beauty," on display through January, is as simple as it sounds. It's a collection of photographs by some of the greats, exploring the theme of beauty. Also on display are "In Light," which has more photos from the permanent collection, and "State of Mind: A California Invitational," which celebrates California photography in the 21st century.
