I'm looking outside at what's going on with the weather and I can't believe my eyes. Treacherous winds, blizzard-like conditions, you name it. But I really shouldn't be surprised. This sort of thing happens everytime a Republican wins a Senate seat in Massachusetts and the New Orleans Saints win the Super Bowl.
Seriously, I've never seen anything like it.
And if you want something even more surreal, there's this week's Political Junkie segment on NPR's Talk of the Nation.
There's Sarah Palin and the Tea Party convention to talk about. In Illinois, we still have a Democratic mess and a Republican stalemate. In the House, Jack Murtha has left us and Vern Ehlers is leaving us. And we don't know what's going on with David Paterson in New York.
Last week's program, in which the fun feature was comparing Super Bowls with Presidents, can be heard here.
Join host Neal Conan and me every Wednesday at 2 p.m. ET for the Junkie segment on TOTN, where you can often, but not always, find interesting conversation, useless trivia questions and sparkling jokes. And you can win a Political Junkie T-shirt!
If your local NPR station doesn't carry TOTN, you can always hear the program on the Web or on HD Radio. And if you are a subscriber to XM/Sirius radio, you can find the show there as well (siriusly).
