Microsoft Won't Be Building 'Courier'; Potential Rival To Apple's iPad

Microsoft is not planning to build its much-discussed potential competitor to Apple's new iPad.

The "Courier", a two-screen tablet computer that folds in the middle, is among the new ideas that Microsoft is always trying to develop, company spokesman Frank Shaw tells Gizmodo. Then, he adds:

"It's in our DNA to develop new form factors and natural user interfaces to foster productivity and creativity. The Courier project is an example of this type of effort. It will be evaluated for use in future offerings, but we have no plans to build such a device at this time."
