Turkish Military Adds To Thursday's Pirate Takedowns

More bad news for pirates this Thursday.

Turkish commandos captured nine pirates in the Gulf of Aden, according to Reuters out of Istanbul. That report follows one Mark posted on earlier in which sailors aboard a U.S. frigate captured five pirates in the Indian Ocean.

The Turkish Armed Forces website has a page with pictures of the capture, including one in which the pirates are pictured with their hands on their heads.

And you can view the pictures while listening to a rousing military march music that plays when you go to the site.

Of course, it's important to keep in mind that pirates don't have nearly the media relations apparatus of the world's major militaries. So they may have had a few successes today of their own that we just haven't heard about.
