It's Official: GOP's Boehner Is Speaker Of The House

The roll call is still going, but Republican Rep. John Boehner of Ohio just went past the number of votes needed to be the next speaker of the House.

Update at 2:05 p.m. ET: Rep. Nancy Pelosi, D-CA., who is now the minority leader, just passed the speaker's gavel to Boehner — the ceremonial moment that marks the change in leadership.
