Egypt Is 'Making Progress,' Obama Says

Asked about the talks in Egypt between the government and some opposition groups, President Obama told reporters a short time ago that:

"Obviously, Egypt has to negotiate a path and they're making progress."

That tone sounds similar to some of the things early today when State Department spokesman P.J. Crowley told Morning Edition that Egypt needs some time to work through things: "If you want to have an election that opens up political space ... and gives the Egyptian people real choices, than taking some time is a prudent action," Crowley said.
