Obama Nominates Locke As Ambassador To China

President Obama has formally nominated Commerce Secretary Gary Locke as U.S. Ambassador to China, succeeding Jon Huntsmann, who has resigned. Frank notes on It's All Politics, Huntsmann, a former Utah governor, is exploring a presidential bid.

Locke, a Chinese-American, served Washington state as governor for two terms, and worked as an attorney in private practice. Time notes he grew up speaking Cantonese and learned English as a kindergartener.
