Saying that "we've always known that lasting change wouldn't come quickly or easily," President Obama kicked off his re-election bid this morning with an e-mail to supporters and a video.
There's also a message on his campaign Twitter page, saying that "today, we're filing papers to launch our 2012 campaign."

Several Republicans are exploring whether to challenge the president next year. Among those expected to make a bid are former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney and former Minnesota Gov. Tim Pawlenty. Other GOP possibilities include former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin, the 2008 Republican vice presidential nominee, and Minnesota Rep. Michele Bachmann, a favorite of Tea Party supporters.
