"Glenn Beck & Fox News announce his weekday show will end later this year - plans for special projects for FNC & its digital platforms," our colleague David Folkenflik just wrote on his Twitter page.

Huffpost Media adds that Fox and Beck "announced Wednesday that Beck will 'transition off of his daily program.' " They said Fox and Beck "are proud to announce that they will work together to develop and produce a variety of television projects for air on the Fox News Channel as well as content for other platforms including Fox News' digital properties."

The news follows reports in recent weeks that the conservative broadcaster likely would part ways with Fox when his contract expires at the end of the year.
