Movie Studio Warner Bros. Buys Flixster And Rotten Tomatoes Site

Warner Bros. says it purchased website Flixster, a website featuring movie reviews and social media links. All Things Digital says no price was disclosed, but reports a few weeks ago said Warner Bros. was looking for $90 million.

The company says it's interested in expanding digital ownership. Variety says Warner Bros. is a big backer of technology that lets people buy and store content from any digital device, and just debuted a product called 'Digital Everywhere'. This allows people to use and organize their digital library on any device.

According to GigaOm, Flixster could become the centerpiece of the new mobile application: 'the ultimate destination for people to buy all digital movies, not just Warner Bros.' Flixster's app is already easily used on many mobile platforms.
