We've been following this "web-log" thing for a while... waiting to see if it was just another one of those internet fads, like dancing babies or keyboard cats or histories of dance. Dances. But it seems to be sticking, so we here at Wait, Wait thought it would be worth a try.
When asked to describe our production process, I often use the metaphor of throwing a lot of spaghetti at a wall to see what sticks. (This puzzles people who did not grow up throwing spaghetti at walls, but everybody eventually gets my drift.) Meaning: we prepare a lot of material for our weekly tapings, but never know what's going to seem funny to the panelists, to the audience, or to Carl, whose merest frown can reduce us all to tears.
But: in making that pot of spaghetti, we boil a lot of noodles. (Metaphor still holding?) Among other things, we'll use this blog to post or comment on the news stories we dig up that just, for whatever reason, aren't quite right for the radio show.
We'll also post photos of cast and crew, backstage gossip, musings, pleadings, and requests to you, the listener/reader/browser, and we'll welcome your comments and suggestions for stories. Thanks for stopping by, and check back soon.
