  • Empty Me Out

This week's World Cafe: Next artist is Liz Vice, a singer-songwriter from Portland, Ore., who learned to sing in church. Growing up, Vice had dreams of working as a filmmaker, but her dreams were put off when autoimmune disease led to a series of medical setbacks in her teens; she finally received a kidney transplant. Vice will release her debut album, There's A Light, on Sept. 25.
