April 29, 2011 Indiana Gov. Mitch Daniels' decision to ban state funding for Planned Parenthood will increase speculation that he plans a White House run. It could help him in the early primaries where social conservatives play a big role but hurt him in a general election.
March 25, 2011 An Indiana county prosecutor resigned after it was discovered he sent an e-mail to Gov. Scott Walker's office suggesting the Wisconsin chief executive stage an attack on himself to discredit his Democratic Party and union opponents.
March 2, 2011 In Wisconsin, Republican and Democratic lawmakers met in an effort to try and end their stalemate. Two Democratic lawmakers met secretly with the GOP state senate leader on Monday but there appeared to be no big breakthrough.
March 1, 2011 Wisconsin protesters won a victory when a county judge said they had the right, at least for now, to statehouse access. GOP state officials have been trying to tamp down the protests by restricting access.
February 28, 2011 It was a new week but with the same old standoffs in Wisconsin and beyond as Republicans still pushed bills to limit union rights. In Wisconsin, state officials began to try to regain control of the state capitol which had been crowded with pro-union protesters foro days.
February 23, 2011 Some updates from the state budget battles around the nation as of Feb. 23, 2011 midday. Wisconsin's general assembly continued work on the controversial budget repair bill. In Indiana, Democrats appeared to win a victory with the death of an anti-union right-to-work bill.
February 22, 2011 Taking a page from Wisconsin, Indiana Democratic lawmakers have reportedly fled their state to stall an anti-union bill. They have sought refuge in a state with a Democratic governor, either Kentucky or Illinois it's thought, to keep a Republican governor from arresting and sending them home.
