January 3, 2011 Candidates for the Republican National Committee chairmanship are debating and the RNC is providing a live feed. Current chairman Michael Steele is fighting for another two-year term despite withering criticism over how he has led the RNC since 2008.
December 13, 2010 Steele, the RNC's first black chair, had a rocky tenure due to many missteps, gaffes included. He purged the RNC staff, creating turmoil right from the start. There were questions about how money was spent, including at a LA bondage themed nightclub.
November 12, 2010 Saul Anuzis, former head of the Michigan GOP, wants RNC chairman Michael Steele's job. He once supported Steele but now says the party can't afford him as it heads into a general election campaign.
November 8, 2010 Steele claimed credit for recent GOP wins with more than any RNC head since 1938. He also asserted that based on last week's results the GOP is much more diverse. While that may be true for candidates, it doesn't square with exit polls of voters.
