November 23, 2010 Among the advice, freshman House Republicans were told to read and reread the Constitution. One veteran lawmaker also advised that in order to avoid an ambush by the media, they use the tunnels under the Capitol complex when they cast floor votes.
September 22, 2010 House Republicans gave an early look at their new "Pledge to America," the sequel to 1994's contract. They promised to cut taxes and spending if returned to power. Some of the language in the pledge was clearly drawn from the Tea Party movement.
