June 10, 2011 Officials said Thursday that they had the massive blaze about five percent contained. Light winds over the next day or so are expected to help firefighters make more progress. Still, local media caution that "full containment is nowhere in sight."

June 8, 2011 The blaze has now covered an area twice the size of the city of Chicago, and as the day began "zero percent" had been contained. Smoke from the fire has been detected as far away as Iowa.
