December 12, 2011 Family, friends, students, faculty and government officials will gather at 2 p.m. ET in Virginia Tech's Cassell Coliseum to remember campus police officer Deriek Crouse. The school plans to webcast the service.
A student paused Thursday evening at the memorial for the victims of the 2007 massacre at Virginia Tech. There was another vigil last night, following Thursday's killing of a campus police officer.
December 9, 2011 Authorities don't know what the shooter's motive was or if he had any connection to the officer who was killed. They aren't ready yet to release his name. He was not a Virginia Tech student.

December 9, 2011 It still isn't known why a man apparently walked up to officer Deriek Crouse and fatally shot the father of five. The killing rocked a campus still dealing with the aftereffects of the 2007 mass shooting of 32 people by a student.
