December 26, 2012 "I still have to get ready to see how much of the neighborhood I can burn down and do what I like doing best: killing people," William Spenger wrote, according to police. He set a fire at his Webster, N.Y., home, then shot at the first responders. Authorities think Spengler also killed his sister.
December 24, 2012 As firefighters arrived at a house fire in Webster, N.Y., police say, convicted murderer William Spengler opened fire. Two firefighters were killed. Two others were wounded. Residents were evacuated. Police say Spengler apparently took his own life. Seven homes were destroyed.
