April 18, 2013 In what has been described as a revenge plot, Eric Williams and his wife are charged with the murders of a Kaufman County district attorney, his wife and an assistant prosecutor. Williams is already in custody for allegedly making a terroristic threat.

April 17, 2013 Mike McLelland, the district attorney in Kaufman County, and his wife were murdered in late March. In January, an assistant district attorney in the county was killed. Authorities are looking at whether a justice of the peace with a possible grudge, and his wife, were involved.

March 31, 2013 The killings of the Kaufman County district attorney and his wife come two months after an assistant district attorney for the same county was shot dead a block from his office. Police say they will "assume" the killings are linked "until it's proven otherwise."
