July 24, 2013 The train, carrying 218 passengers, was traveling on a high-speed rail between Madrid and Ferrol, when it derailed. Images on TV showed bodies strewn near the rails, as emergency personnel attempted to rescue others stuck inside the mangled remains of commuter train carriages.
