FBI Says Missing Youth Recruited By Terrorists

March 12, 2009 In the past year and a half, about two dozen Somali-American youth disappeared from their homes in MN. The FBI believes the young men were radicalized and recruited here in the U.S., then sent to Somalia. There's concern they'll return to the U.S. to carry out attacks.

FBI Believes Missing Men Joined Somali Terrorists

March 12, 2009 Young Somali-Americans in Minneapolis have been vanishing over the past year and a half. It's been suspected that the young men have been heading to Somalia. And for the first time, the FBI hinted Wednesday that that was the case. The FBI believes terrorist recruiters are operating in Minnesota and helping young men make their way to the East African nation.

FBI Sheds Light On Missing Somali-Americans

March 11, 2009 Law enforcement officials testifying before Congress on Wednesday said that nearly two dozen young Somali-Americans who disappeared from Minneapolis in the past year were radicalized and sent to Somalia to fight with an Islamic militia. They say the group that recruited them may have links to al-Qaida.
