Airport Runways Shift With The Magnetic North Pole
January 10, 2011 The magnetic north pole shifts toward Russia at a rate of about 40 miles a year. The Tampa Tribune reports that the Tampa International airport had to rename its runways to match the new readings on cockpit compasses.

Head South -- It's Just Easier!
June 15, 2010 I have a hard time with north, and I'm not the only one. Heading south feels like going down hill, which is certainly easier than climbing.
