The sign says one thing. The snow pile says another. In Boston on Tuesday, a woman walked between a store sign heralding the start of spring and a snow pile still lingering from this winter's storms.

March 19, 2013 That prognosticating groundhog said winter wouldn't last another six weeks. Well, tell that to folks in the Northeast and New England. They're due for another foot or more of snow in the next day or so. And they're still dealing with the snow that fell in earlier blizzards.

The National Weather Service's latest forecast of the snow totals across New England. Most places can expect 18-24 inches of new snow. It will start falling Friday and the storm is expected to last through Saturday.

December 27, 2012 The storm that spread blizzards from Texas to the Great Lakes, and spawned tornadoes in the Southeast, will dump more snow before it heads off toward Canada and the Atlantic Ocean. It's been blamed for at least 15 deaths.

December 26, 2012 Twisters touched down across the Southeast. Heavy snow and rains toppled trees and power lines. At least six deaths are being attributed to the massive system's effects. Now, it's hitting the Northeast. Hundreds of flights have been canceled. Drivers are being warned to stay off many roads.
