The Supreme Court declined to intervene in a case involving Medicaid payments to Planned Parenthood.

May 28, 2013 The justices have refused to disturb a lower court decision that barred Indiana from stripping Medicaid payments to the organization. Six federal courts have ruled that targeted defunding is illegal. This was the first case to reach the Supreme Court.

August 20, 2012 A flurry of donations to Planned Parenthood during a dispute with Susan G. Komen Foundation is fueling an expansion of breast cancer services. Planned Parenthood is stepping up education about breast health. The funds will help fund mammograms and other tests, as well as the distribution of a tool to help doctors and nurses assess cancer risk.

An estimated 45,000 people took part in the Susan B. Komen Race for the Cure in Little Rock, Ark., in Oct. 2010. But after a controversy involving potential cuts to  funding of Planned Parenthood earlier this year, participation in fundraising races has dropped.

June 1, 2012 Participation is down in races to raise money for the Susan G. Komen for the Cure charity. Some Komen supporters remain skeptical about the group, even though a decision to cut funding for Planned Parenthood was reversed quickly.

Ariz. Bars Funding For Groups Providing Abortions

Republican Gov. Jan Brewer of Arizona signed legislation Friday that bans state funding from groups that provide abortions, barring federal requirements.

May 5, 2012 The state already forbids funding of abortions, but the governor says the legislation "closes loopholes." Planned Parenthood Arizona says the move "could reduce access to a wide range of preventive health care for thousands of Arizonans."
