Opposition fighters flashed the V-sign for victory during celebrations in Tripoli's newly named Martyrs Square, formerly known as Green Square, on Tuesday (Aug. 23, 2011).

August 24, 2011 The Libyan leader vowed to fight on even as opposition fighters looted his compound in Tripoli. Meanwhile, Hurricane Irene has strengthened. And damage assessements are underway following the earthquake that rattled much of the East Coast.
