NFL Suspends Four Players, One For Full Season, Over Saints' Bounties

Oct. 31, 2010: Defensive coordinator Gregg Williams (then of the New Orleans Saints) talks to linebacker Jonathan Vilma. Williams has been suspended from the league indefinitely. Vilma will miss the 2012 season.

May 2, 2012 Linebacker Jonathan Vilma got the stiffest penalty. He will miss the entire 2012 season. The other suspensions range from three to eight games.

NFL Slams Saints Over 'Bountygate;' Coach Suspended For 2012 Season

March 21, 2012 New Orleans Saints head coach Sean Payton has been "suspended for one season without pay for his involvement in the team's bounty program," NFL.com reports. Gregg Williams, the assistant who ran the program, has been suspended indefinitely.
