Ruling Eases Funding of Private Political Ads

November 21, 2007 With the presidential primaries now just weeks away, it's almost prime time for rich, independent groups to start targeting various candidates. Their model is a TV ad that caused problems for Howard Dean just before the Iowa caucuses in 2004. New regulations adopted this week make it easier for the groups to tap corporate and union money.
