All Things Considered, July 19, 2008 · With the release of Dark Knight, a lot of attention has been focused on the performance of the late Heath Ledger as The Joker. Another person who worked on the film died before its release: Special effects technician Conway Wickliffe was killed in a car crash while trailing the Batmobile for a stunt.
