50 years ago, a company of marines stationed in China, adopted an 11-year old boy they named "Charlie Two-Shoes." They maintained ties with Charlie over the years and Charlie has helped bring them together in common cause. The story is told in a book titled Charlie Two-Shoes and the Marines of Love Company by David Pearlment and Michael Peterson (Naval Institute Press). NPR's David Molpus reports.
